Hi Hikers,
Join us for four fun events this coming weekend and mid-week. Spend
the day hiking the spectacular Marin Headlands on Sat, 6/24. Then, on
Sun afternoon, 6/25, by popular demand, there will be a special hike
for hikers from ages 25-49 at Tilden Park in the East Bay, followed
by an optional Chinese dinner. Also, on Sun, 6/25, the first of three
Kabbalah dating events for ages 40 and up will take place. Also,
don't forget to join us in Mountain View on Wed evening, 6/28, to
enjoy a dessert treat as a reward for helping to mail the next

10:05 a.m. Manzanita Parking LotThis event is co-listed with Sierra Singles. Explore with leader Neil
Kaplan (510) 451-5252 as we visit the ruins of Hill 88 on Wolf Ridge
and other ridges on this 10 mile hike with open rolling hills and
splendid views of southern Marin and the Golden Gate. There will be a
possible afternoon stop at Tennessee Beach. Expect sun, wind, fog and
a few steep sections with some tough footing at a moderate pace.
Drivers meet leader at the Manzanita commuter parking lot (under Hwy
101 at the Hwy 1 turnoff) at 10:05 am or meet at the Rockridge BART
(east side of College Ave) at 9:15 am to create carpools to the
Tennessee Valley trailhead where parking there can be quite tight on
a sunny weekend. Bring hats and sweater, food and enough water. Few
facilities.Directions to Manzanita Parking Lot: Take Hwy 101 North to the
Stinson Beach/Mt. Tamalpais (Hwy 1) exit. After going under the
freeway, take an immediate left into the parking lot. If you are
coming from the East Bay, take the Richmond Bridge to Hwy 101 and Hwy
101 South to the Stinson Beach/Mt. Tamalpais (Hwy 1) exit._____________________________________________________________
25-49 Tilden Park Peak and Lake Hike, East Bay
Sunday, June 25th, $3
1:15 p.m. North Berkeley BART carpool (eat lunch before the hike)In response to requests from our members, we have organized a 5-6
mile hike for ages 25-49 at Tilden Park in the Berkeley Hills. Join
Sharon and Jackie as we hike the scenic Peak Trail through lush
forest to a spectacular outlook with views of the entire Bay Area. We
will also visit the animals at the Little Farm, with possible
sightings of ducks and turtles as we hike around Jewel Lake. There
will be an optional dinner stop after the hike at Kirin Chinese
Restaurant, located at 1767 Solano Avenue. We will meet in front of
North Berkeley BART at 1:15 p.m. to carpool to the trailhead at the
Tilden Park Environmental Education Center, where parking is limited.
