Heads Up! Matisyahu’s Coming to Town! Nice Jewish Girls GONE BAD!
Posted by Oyster on August 10, 2006

Tonight, at the Red Devil Lounge, according to our friends of the Second Saturday Jew Crew:
Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad is a refreshing mix of comedy, music and show-stopping burlesque, told by the gals who learned to smoke at Hebrew School, got drunk at their Bat-Mitzvahs and would rather have more schtuppa than the chupah. These badass chosen chicks boldly dare to deconstruct years of tradition, expectations and guilt in a fast-paced vaudeville extravaganza, complete with kick lines, comedy, pasties and a rendition of “L’chaim” with a fist in the mouth. This ain’t yo’ mama’s “Fiddler”.
Looks pretty racy. I’m just thankful that the ‘jinji’ is using the shamash to light her Clinton Special. Oy! Brunette! Put down the Manishewitz and pick up a bottle of Baron Herzog! Well, if Heeb is behind it, so am I. ‘Second Saturday’, for those of you who don’t know, is just the dopest Jew-party there is in the Bay Area. Why the name? I don’t know. I still haven’t figured it out. It’s kinda mysterious that way. Oh yeah, they’re having the next edition of their phat party this Saturday. More on that later.

Matisyahu, the break-through record-selling Jewish rap / hip-hop / reggae artist (“formerly” of JDub Records) is coming to the Bay Area! You could go see him at his show in Berkeley, but if you wanna go with a bunch of the Tribe to see his performance in San Jose, then register through the Silicon Valley Young Adults Division (SVYAD). Only a few tickets left, so enough with the futzing already!

The image of those three women will haunt my nightmares for a long time.

[…] I’m going nutty in anticipation of “The Man” himself showing up in our ghetto. Listening to “Live at Stubbs“, and “Youth” constantly, getting ready for the Chabad Shabbaton where I’ll be able to chill and daven with Matisyahu (again), and getting excited about the concert this Saturday in San Jose! He’ll also be performing on Sunday up in Bezerkeley. If you buy tickets for the Saturday show, you can get a few bucks knocked off if you pick the tickets up at the door. Also, you can join our Jew-crew for dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory at 6:30 PM and then hang with us at the concert. […]
