VANESSA HIDARY’S “CULTURE BANDIT”

Sunday, December 10 @ 7pm

THE BRAVA THEATER, 2781 24th Street, SF“Hilarious! ... Vanessa Hidary seamlessly blends the multicultural hip-hop of her New York youth with her strong Sephardic/ Mizrahi heritage in a cutting-edge, spoken-word show.”

Inspired by her experiences as a Sephardic/Mizrahi Jew with close friends from different ethnic and religious backgrounds, actress/poet/playwright/native New Yorker Vanessa Hidary wrote "Culture Bandit," a solo show that chronicles her coming of age during the golden age of Hip-Hop and her dedication to fostering understanding and friendship between all people.

Vanessa is a member of the troupe “Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad,” and is featured on HBO’s Def Poetry and in the film “The Tribe” which has been selected for the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.

Sponsored by Be'chol Lashon, a program of the Institute for Jewish & Community Research that seeks to grow and strengthen the Jewish people through ethnic, cultural, and racial inclusiveness.

Queen Esther tells me:

If you would like discounted tickets (and your friends), mention Be’chol Lashon when buying your tickets, and get them for only $10! The Brava Box Office is 415-647-2822.
