Nes Katan Haya Po!

Posted by Oyster on January 7, 2007

Geshem HaMidbar! I’m writing this from a Bedouin tent in the Negev desert as the heavens rain down on us.. We went for a camel ride, went through an IDF training simulation (complete with a 1 km run), and had Bedouin hospitality complete with tea, coffee, and some Oud playing with singing. Yael translated the Sheikh’s introduction to Bedouin culture. I interjected that the new Israel Consul General of San Francisco is Bedouin (whom I met at Bezerkeley). Then the rains came as I climbed a nearby hill to enjoy the last minutes of sunlight on this most beautiful part of Eretz Yisrael. Then the Geshem HaMidbar came. 🙂 Blessed is HaShem for the miracles of Nature.
