Masada, Mer Muerte Madness

Posted by Oyster on January 9, 2007

We awoke at 4 AM to sweet Bedouin tea & biscuits. Our bus then bid adieu to our tent of camels, geshem hamidbar, and capoeira musicians. We were running late, so we launched ourselves up the Roman Ramp at Masada to catch the sunrise. A cloud-covered horizon obscured the rise, but the changing scenery of the Judean Desert was absolutely stunning. After learning of the captivating story of Masada, we descended down the Snake Path. Lunch & Ahavah shopping followed (“did you get some Love?”). The Dead Sea was beautiful in its brutal stillness. I put on some mud, had ck video me & Phoebe dancing, and even rescued an Israeli soldier who had gotten the poisonous water in his eye. I also snagged two samples of water, to analyze for bacteria. 🙂
