Welcome ArchAngelinAmerica, our newest Oy-Bay’ster!

Posted by Oyster on July 16, 2007

Please join me in welcoming an old high-school friend of mine to Oy Bay: ArchAngelinAmerica!

ArchAngelinAmerica is a Bay Area native.  Raised in the South Bay and currently living in Oakland, he has worked in many different parts of the Bay.  By day, he is a physics teacher and by night he is a theatre artist.  He has worked at numerous bay area theatre companies.  He is a literary manager at Renegade Theatre in San Jose and a company member of Custom Made Theatre in San Francisco.  He is a die hard Zionist and enjoys telling people about his Jewish identity.  He likes Jewish and Israeli food.  He enjoys working in theatre and hopes to make it more of a full time career.  He also likes pointing out the large number of Jews who are influential in theatre or physics.  He hopes to make some excellent contibutions to the Oy-Bay community.  He likes Tony Kushner as a playwright but does not always agree with his politics.

There is an HBO mini series that is pretty good and is available on DVD. San Jose’s City Lights Theatre will be producing “Perestroika” this fall as well. They did “Millenium Approaches” last fall.

Welcome ArchAngelina. Does the ArchAngelina refer to a specific name? I.e. Michael, Gabriel?

His full username is ‘archangelinamerica’. It’s a mash-up of ‘arch angel’ and ‘Angels in America’ (by Tony Kushner).

My real name is Gabriel. Clever observation!
