Happy HanukkahPull out those Hanukkiah’s, get those latkes frying and jelly donuts oozing their jelly goodness as Hanukkah is just around the corner. The first candle is Tuesday, December 4th. There’s a lot of Hanukkah related events going on around the Bay, here’s a run down, let me know what I’ve missed.

Happy Hanukkah6th Candle: Sunday, December 9th

  • The Hub’s got 8 events for 8 nights. Volunteer to bring Hanukkah cheer to children
  • Latkepalooza at the Peninsula JCC, Annual community wide Hanukkah celebration! Enjoy jazz-world-music Israeli band, Seeds of Sun., entertainment for children, a wine and cheese reception with artist Chanan Getraide and of course, lots of latkes! A communal candle-lighting will mark the sixth night of Hanukkah.
  • TJT Presents a special engagement, Hanukah fun for the whole family: Hanukah and Other Jewish Tales, with Storyteller Michael Katz. 1pm and 3:30pm, Traveling Jewish Theatre, 470 Florida St., San Francisco. Tickets: $10 kids, $18 adults.

  • JSN’s celebrating Hanukkah with music, food and a special speaker
  • JCCSF Hanukkah Fair for the family
  • 6pm Menorah Lighting at Cali Mill Plaza with latkes and sufganiot
