Oy to the World

“Oy to the World, the Latkes have Come…”

Moshiakh must indeed be imminent. For it will be a fog & hippie free day in San Francisco when you can see an Israeli flag in a Mission District store window, without it being burned down in a matter of minutes. 🙂

Tip of the cone-shaped Jew hat to Mathias Brandewinder for this great image, & for his shout-out to Oy Bay! Oh, and I wouldn’t look too deeply into how to parse that shirt’s slogan. If it is meant to be anything beyond a lexical word-pun, then perhaps its a riff on Jewish neuroses & pessimism? Woody Allen comes to mind…

What store window is this in?

Mathias original post indicates: “in the window display of a vintage-clothing shop (Retro Fit) on Valencia”

Thanks for the kind words! And I like some mystery in my life, so keeping the slogan under-determined is fine by me…
Ah, and yes I am ALMOST certain the shop was Retro Fit. It’s definitely on Valencia, at the corner with 20th.
