Exhibit: January 6 – March 16
BJE Jewish Community Library
1835 Ellis Street, San Francisco
Even Hoshen private press was founded in Ra’anana, Israel in 1994 by Uzi Agassi, who was joined shortly after by his son Ido. Even Hoshen produces books in limited editions on high quality paper, accompanied by original etchings, prints, or woodcuts, with special hand made bindings and boxes. The press is named after the twelve precious stones of Aaron’s breastplate, as described in the Book of Exodus; each series of books is named for one of the stones. This exhibit represents the first time the press’s work is being displayed in the United States.
