J Weekly website hacked?

Posted by Oyster on July 8, 2010

Scary warning message from Firefox when I try to visit http://www.jweekly.com

As much as I hate it when people use the term ‘hack’ to mean ‘crack’, I will use the common usage against my better judgment.

When I go to the J website (www.jweekly.com) using Firefox or Chrome on my Mac today, both browsers pop open a warning that the site might be infected with malware that will try to rip my computer a new one.

Mistake by Chrome & Firefox? Random attack on http://www.jweekly.com because their tech support missed a software update for their server? Coordinated antisemitic attack? Who knows. I’d say just read Oy Bay in the mean-time. 🙂

    Hi there!

Actually, J. Weekly was experiencing some technical difficulties for a few days and the problem was soon resolved. No anti-Semitic hackers were responsible, thankfully!
