Dear JCCSF members, program participants and friends,

We’d like to fill you in on an incident that occurred at the JCCSF today. This morning at around 8:25 am, we received a brief phone call with a bomb threat. While calls like this can be disconcerting, they do not generally pose an actual threat. Nonetheless, your safety and security are our highest concerns, and so we take any such call extremely seriously. In keeping with our procedures for such an incident, we took the precautionary measure of evacuating the building. The San Francisco Police Department conducted a thorough search and found no credible threat, and the building was deemed safe to return to at approximately 10:35 am. We are very grateful for the SFPD’s support and speedy response, and we were especially pleased to hear that they felt we had followed all the appropriate procedures.

We have no reason to believe that this is anything other than an isolated incident. As always, though, we are working closely with staff to ensure a high level of awareness and vigilance so that we continue to maintain a safe and secure environment for all of our staff and guests.

If you were among those using the Fitness Center or taking a class this morning, we sincerely regret any inconvenience you experienced, and are grateful for your understanding of the need for safety to be our paramount concern.

We appreciate your understanding, and look forward to seeing you at the JCCSF.
